Students will be handling Dawn dish soap and water. Plan to get wet or bring a plastic apron. Your feet will get wet. We make these at the Wheatland Music Festival under a big tent. It’s a wonderful gabfest and relaxing way to fondle fiber. This is a beginner’s class. This is NOT fancy Nuno-felting. This is an introduction to the science and history of felting fiber for wearing.

We will be making a simple headband to get you started on your way to Fair Isle. For this class, please bring worsted weight yarn in light colors. For homework and practice you will need to bring three colors of worsted weight yarn. Set circular needles in a size to meet gauge, probably a size 7 or 8 and a 32 to 40” very flexible cable.
For the Headband project you should bring worsted weight yarn in 3 different light colors, size 7 or 8 circular needle 32” to 40” with flexible cable, and stitch markers.
Cast on 80 sts, join in the round and be careful not to twist.
