Do you enjoy working with children? Are you interested in becoming a leader in your community or working at a summer camp? Have lots of enthusiasm, camp spirit, energy and willingness to help others?  
This program is a way to gain self-confidence, learn new skills, and acquire leadership skills while obtaining hands on experience. 
Sharpen your leadership skills and volunteer to help in general camp programs or in a specialized program area. Learn important skills and be part of our leadership program!

Leadership in Training (LIT) 
Grade in Fall: 9th-12th

Equestrian in Training (EIT)
Grade in Fall: 9th-12th

Counselor in Training (CIT)
Grade in Fall: 10th-12th

TO QUALIFY:
LIT: (9th-12th grade) 1 week session – Register online…
EIT: (9th-12th grade1 week session Register online…
CIT: (10th-12th grade) 2 week sessions, if camper receives a positive review at the end of the training week, he/she will be able to volunteer for another week free of charge. Our CIT program is set up much like a job interview. Please, register online AND complete the CIT application, which includes information about you (the camper) as well as 2 references (no family members). References from past counselors, teachers or community leaders are REQUIRED. These can be sent by mail to Camp Cavell, 3335 Lakeshore Rd, Lexington, MI 48450 or emailed to office@campcavell.org

Quick Info

CITs and LITs live together for the week. Part of the day they attend sessions in group development, problem solving, communication, and teaching skills. The rest of the time they volunteer at different camp program areas such as Tree Climbing, Camp Counseling, Nature Programming, or Waterfront.

Overnight EITs train and serve as volunteers at the Equestrian Area and come in the morning and work with our Equestrian Staff. In the afternoon they volunteer at different camp program areas such as Counseling, Group Games, or Waterfront.

Overall, this is an excellent way to gain important skills that will transfer well to any career you choose. 
PLEASE DO NOT apply for the program if you are not focused on learning new skills and helping others.
