Thanks to the hard work and creativity of YWCA staff, programs for school aged children are expanding throughout Detroit.  These programs are focused in schools and communities.

The YWCA is happy to bring you our...1st Annual EARTH DAY EVENT!
Enjoy this family event Saturday, April 10th from 12:00-3:00 p.m. Families will enjoy live performances, crafts, games & activities, and much more as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day.  $10.00 per family for the fun-filled afternoon.  All proceeds to benefit our summer camp scholarship fund.  Mindy Simmons & Jerry Brooks are our outstanding performers!

Programs provide More

These programs provide more than just child care for the 200 + young people. Participants are exposed to various arts activities, as well as sports, dance, skill building techniques and of course, tutoring and homework completion.

School Break and Summer Day Camps

The YWCA Downtown Branch fills parents’ child care gaps during summer and school breaks by providing day camp programs at host sites throughout Detroit. A full range of site-based activities can include projects such as arts and crafts, games, outside play, stories, field trips and music.
