YWCA Camp Cavell
 Volunteer Weekends

JUST ADDED June 11-13th 2010!

Hi from Jill!

Please pass the word... we are in need of...

HELP TO GET CAMP READY FOR THE SUMMER AND MDA CAMP!
Can you help?  We have set up a work day/weekend for June 11-13th and are trying to rally our friends and volunteers to help!  We desperately need help fixing up the cabins, trimming the lawn, setting up the horse area, and just doing a general polish to camp!

We have fallen behind because of the  challenge of building 9 ramps on the back of our Southwood Cabins, the strange weather, the tree fall at primitive, and just general budget challenges that are cutting back on staff hours!

Our staff have volunteered much time to trying to get us ready but we are not there yet and we are running out of time!

Please share this information with your group, friends and family!

We provide the food and lodging and just ask for a $40 donation for children.

Thanks for your support!

Sincerely!
Jill

We will be staying at our Southwood or
Northwood Unit which has 8 cabins and bathrooms in each cabin!

Join us as we Get Camp Ready for a New Season!
We provide the food, snacks, and housing!

If coming for the Weekend:
We set up work crews on Friday night and work during the day on Saturday. Saturday evening we will have a campfire and take a night walk. Sunday we will relax and just finish up loose ends. It's fun working together!  Older kids who are "Good Workers" may help too!  Volunteers will also keep younger kids busy!  We serve up the meals for Saturday all day and Sunday breakfast!  Bring pop if you would like we have juice, coffee, and tea.

If coming for the Day:
We get started between 9:30 and 10:00 and work to 3:00 or 4:00.  Come to the office to check in and we will let you pick a task and help get you started!  We will serve lunch!  Bring pop if you would like we have juice, coffee, and tea.

PROJECTS INCLUDE:

Skilled trades:  rewire cabins, add new service to program areas, install new sinks, fix underground valves, re-shingle cabins, drywall storerooms, repair vehicles, service heaters, paint inside of cabins and more!  Contact us for specific needs.

Equipment:

Please bring along tools of your trade!  We do have some tools, but not enough to outfit the entire gang!  If you have rechargeable tools bring your re-charger and we will set them up in the dining hall!  Trimmers, power washers, electric screwdrivers, chainsaws and shop vacs are always needed.  Bulldozers, backhoes, tractors, bucket trucks, and trailers are needed as well.

Gloves and water bottles come in handy for everybody and it is good to bring them for the kids too!
