What is GLRLL?
Great Lakes Recreation Leaders Lab (Rec
Lab), is a workshop where people of all interests, ages and skills come
together for five days to grow, learn, play, and recreate. The workshop
provides a setting for leadership development, professional improvements,
personal growth and fellowship. The skills learned at Rec Lab are
easily applied to professionals no matter the discipline or age. GLRLL
is a private, nonprofit organization incorporated under the laws of the
state of Michigan. GLRLL welcomes men and women of all ages, race,
ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientation and faith traditions.
Anyone 16 years of age and older,
including recreation leaders, teachers, camp personnel, volunteer leaders,
activity directors, youth leaders and others seeking leadership training and
enrichment activities. Where is Rec Lab held? Rec Lab is held at YWCA Camp Cavell, a fully accessible and inclusive site located four and half miles north of Lexington, Michigan on the beautiful shore of Lake Huron.
The fun begins Friday evening with get-acquainted activities and introduction to classes and their instructors. On Friday, you may select three regular classes to attend daily. (Classes are subject to change due to unavoidable circumstances.) In addition to the general Keynote session and classes, each day will include early-bird activities, networking opportunities, evening programs and night-owl activities.
Partial scholarships are available
to help with the cost of lab. Check the line on the registration form for
scholarship information to be sent.
How much does Rec Lab cost? Registration fees includes all meals, resource materials, CD, group photo, all classes, and housing in heated, accessible cabins. See our prices in our downloadable flyer!
