Fun Sessions of Hands on Learning…

Science, Adventure and More!

Students come with a parent or adult who is responsible for their care.  While students attend sessions with other campers their own age, the adults and younger brothers and sisters join in on activities organized just for them.  You can register individually or as a group!

2003 Dates:

May   7                        Free fun day  Wednesday

June    2 - 4                3 days,  Monday - Wednesday

June    4 - 6 **            3 days, Wednesday - Friday (Older kids)

September  15 - 19      5 days,  Monday - Friday

September  24 - 26     3 days,  Wednesday - Friday

**Special program for older children 11 and up only. All other programs any age 0 and up!

ALL ABOUT HOME-SCHOOL CAMP:

Camp Cavell is a beautiful facility located on 1800 feet of Lake Huron shoreline in the thumb of Michigan. We are just 25 miles north of Port Huron, and 4.5 miles north of the little town of Lexington.

For students, this week is filled with activities that will focus on science, adventure and fun. Students will be challenged to work together to solve problems, learn more about the world through hands on science, and strengthen their self-confidence through challenge activities.

Family members will have time to explore camp and drop in on activities just for them! Programs include hay rides, beach hunts, meet the animals, arts & crafts and more. In the evening we will all come together for fun "All Camp" activities and campfires!

We have comfortable heated cabins that sleep 8 to 10, with twin size beds, electricity and a bathroom and shower in each cabin. Session fees range from $45 - $150 per person depending on age and length and includes program, meals & lodging!

ACTIVITIES

Sample Student Sessions

Science, Technical Tree Climbing, Orienteering, Kayaking, Nature, and Stream Exploration. In shorter sessions students must choose between programs.

Sample Family & Open Activities

Parachute games, hay rides, sports, crafts, horse back riding, massage, pre-school club room, beach time, dig for the shipwreck, meet the animals, hikes, nature hunts, massage and more!

CAMP FEES

The camp fee includes meals, activities and lodging. The only additional fees are membership, horseback riding, massage and some of the larger arts & craft kits.

   Five Day:  $110 Adult, $130  Student,  $90 Non-student children, 4 and under free.

    Four Day:  $95 Adult, $115  Student,  $75 Non-student children, 4 and under free.

    Three Day:   $75 Adult, $95 Student,  $55 Non-student children, 4 and under free.

Yearly YWCA membership is required for one person in each family group and may taken out at time of registration. $20 Sorry YMCA not accepted.

HOME SCHOOLERS FREE FUN DAY…   Wed. MAY 7th, 10-4 PM. Come enjoy a day on the lakeshore; bring along a picnic lunch. Join in on activities including scavenger hunts, crafts, fossil hunt, petting farm and beach hikes. An excellent opportunity for your family to see camp and meet the staff!
